Immersing herself in radio shows as a child Scarlet Duggan (aka Scar Duggy) discovered her love for music. She started recording her own mini mixtapes on old cassettes and in her teens she presented her first few radio shows on local radio. Before getting into DJing Duggan spent her time listening to a breadth of genres on cassette and vinyl. She immersed herself in a mixture of rock, jazz and RnB which led to her becoming a drummer, playing in various bands throughout her school years.
She started mixing in her early twenties whilst living in a house full of DJ’s. With nearly always someone mixing at home, she eventually had a go herself and bought her own set of turntables, mixing a bunch of her friends old jungle and DnB vinyls. After playing her first few sets around Glastonbury, Duggan moved to London and hit the squat party scene which naturally progressed into her playing raves and UK festivals.
As her taste developed, Duggan transitioned into playing house, garage, UK funky, UK bass, grime, and breaks. Her sets are always influenced by her love of UK funky, afro beats and dancehall, and these influences are laced into her mixes; her song selection always including tunes with a tropical twist and percussion heavy beats.
