Tuff Culture is fast emerging as a prolific DJ in the UK Bass music scene. With tracks that embrace an eclectic mix of moody bass lines, smooth percussions and tight vocal samples, the humble Birmingham based producer is undoubtedly succeeding in creating one of the most unique bass sounds in the business.
His roots lie in old school garage, drum and bass and jungle and they are fundamental to his work. His influences include the likes of LTJ, Wookig, MJ Cole and Julian Jonah.
Last year was a huge year for Tuff Culture, gaining recognition from the likes of DJ EZ and Flava D. In July 2016 we saw the release of his latest EP, ‘Edification’ through which he hooked up with Four 40 Records. The EP suggested a sense of originality with skedaddling keys and gritty wobbles; Tuff Culture doesn’t appear to try to fit the stereotypical structures commonly seen in bass music.
With support in the form of guest mixes on BBC Radio and Kiss, Capital and Rinse FM and with a rising profile amongst the scene, and other artists, Tuff Culture is positioning himself as one of the most inventive UK artists coming up at the moment.
